pictures of specs that i promise are famous people
On Monday since I couldn’t get tickets to Karen O’s Native Korean Rock debut, I hit Wingate Park in Brooklyn to check out a free John Legend and Estelle concert instead. I tell you, that John loves him some white pants. I’ll admit I’m pretty daring with my outfits but I’ve yet to venture into the white-pant-territory…usually when you see an Asian guy in white pants he’s the crime boss in a Steven Seagal film who smacks women and wears black silk shirts with pictures of tigers on them. Anyway, I thought I was all slick getting to the show at 7:15 even though it started at 7:30, but ended up in a long ass line and in the far corner of the park where the show went down. But I promised pictures of my daily excursions, so here you go:
Estelle’s ridiculously cute and I loved her set. John’s was aiiiiiiiight…the last time I saw him was an acoustic piano set (can pianos be acoustic? whatever, you know what i mean) at a Hard Rock Cafe right before Get Lifted dropped, and I guess I preferred that more intimate setting than him getting up to salsa for every song.

Soo, being as though you also share my… (thinking of a non-homo way to say affection) uhh appreciation for LiL-Wayne I have a question….I am a big Andre fan, and like to think that he is a major influence to all, however when listening to his verse it seems like he might have taken a page out of Lil-Wayne’s current book…what do you think??
Oh and I would have one of Estelle’s baby’s, I recently find myself Bumpin come over at my car stereo’s capacity. The other day while at a light, just as my voice was hitting a crescendo, a car full of women pulls up next to me, and gives me the biggest, what a lame-o face.
And while I am commenting (I read you guys stuff all the time, and always tell myself I am going to comment and never do) I would like to give respect where respect is due…I not sure what is in the water over there (besides two hydrogen atoms bonded to a single oxygen atom) but you all consistently put me on the freshest music/blogs/ish out there, almost every artist that you have featured has become one that I become a fan of, the most recent being santagold!

hmmm i didn’t really hear weezy in dre’s verse, but i wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been influenced…andre hasn’t ever really been one to hide the fact that other peoples’ styles rub off on him (i.e. george clinton, jimi hendrix) and i admire him for that. weezy and andre have also been known to give each other mad props, so either way, we end up with hot music!
and yes, santogold is the trooof! i’ll try to post more digable artists.
