meet m'kai, my five year old roommate. well, he'll be six by next week. yesterday he came home with my other roommate (his mom) with decorations galore, and a nice shiny synthetic christmas tree [insert excuse for not getting a real tree here].

with both me and my roommate (the one that's older than 5) being graphic design nerds, we decided to color coordinate our tree. red, blue, and gold is what we went for. i originally wanted to spraypaint the whole tree electric blue, but given that the main reason we didn't get a real tree was to avoid allergies, we decided that spraying an aerosol can all up in the living room wouldn't be much of an improvement.

when we finished, m'kai was so excited that he made us turn off all the lights in the house and leave them off for the rest of the night. he's volunteered to sleep in the living room the past two nights, sprawled ont he couch overlooking the 6foot plastic bohemeth.

m'kai is an incredible photographer. it's one of those things where i look at him sideways like "are you just doing these by accident?" but it's happened too frequently to think so. kid's got skills.
